Who we are?

Who are we? We are Ohana Feral Cat and Kitten TNR.

Our journey started in April 2019 with a trio of passionate individuals united by their love for cats and a shared commitment to their well-being. In the beginning, we operated as a modest team of independent volunteers dedicated to rescuing, nurturing, and securing foster homes for abandoned and stray cats navigating the streets.

Our mission

At Ohana Feral Cat and Kitten TNR, our mission is to protect, care for, and improve the lives of feral cats and kittens in our community through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) practices. We are dedicated to reducing overpopulation, minimizing suffering, and creating a compassionate environment where all cats can live healthily and safely. By educating the public, supporting local caregivers, and providing essential medical care, we aim to promote humane treatment and coexistence between feral cats and the community.

* As of 2022, we have rescued and provided support for more than 2500 stray cats, helping over 490 of them find new homes. Though our efforts may be just a small part, they serve as the motivation for us to continue this work every day.

* In addition, we have welcomed over 100 new members. They share the same vision as us and will accompany us on the journey to rescue abandoned cats.

With a passion for animal welfare and a desire to build a more civilized society, we have been and continue to make efforts to develop the following activities:

What we do?

- Rescue and rehabilitation of abandoned and stray animals: Our volunteers conduct daily patrols on streets and public areas to search for and rescue wild dogs and cats. The fortunate ones are brought to the center for health check-ups, hygiene, and medical care.
- Temporary fostering: Rescued cats are temporarily fostered at the center while waiting for new families. Here, they receive nutritious care, hygiene, and daily attention and play.
- Seeking adoptive families: Our staff strives to find suitable and compassionate families to adopt these pets. We prioritize families that genuinely love and care for the animals.
- Advocating for adoption instead of buying: Through awareness campaigns, we urge people to adopt animals from shelters instead of buying. Buying encourages illegal animal trafficking.
- Education and advocacy for animal protection: The center regularly organizes talks at schools and in the community on the proper care, protection, and love for animals. We aim to spread love and awareness of animal protection within the community.

Our next mission

2022 - 2024
Community Education:
- Organize community education campaigns on owner responsibility for the care and nurturing of cats.
- Increase awareness about the consequences of abandonment for both cats and the community.
2024 - 2026
Encouraging Adoption from Rescue Centers:
- Encourage individuals interested in adopting cats to seek them from rescue centers rather than purchasing from various sources.
2026 - 2028
Connect the community for a common goal:
- Love cats like family members.
